Technician Console Desktop App for Windows and Mac
This article gives guidance to Rescue technicians.
Technician Console as a desktop application is available for technicians both on Windows and Mac computers.
The desktop app offers the same set of features as the browser-based version. Adobe master collection cs3 for mac. The only difference is that it runs as a standalone executable, which means it can be launched with a single click – no browser required.
Restrictions and limitations for the Technician Console for Mac
The following Technician Console features are not available on Mac:
- Technician screen sharing
- Screen recording with MSVC codec (falls back to MRLE codec)
- Monitoring the desktop of a technician running the Technician Console for Mac
- Integrated content portal (ICP)
- Connect On LAN
Note: Files saved/exported during a session are available at Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/LogMeIn-Rescue/Bottles/logmeinrescue/drive_c/users/crossover/My Documents
How to Install the Desktop App
On Windows
- Option 1. Click this link to download and install the desktop app
- Option 2. Log in to your account at the LogMeIn Rescue website and go to the My Account page. Click the link to download the desktop app.
On a Mac
- Click this link to download the Technician Console for Mac app.
- In the Downloads box, double-click LogMeInRescueTechnicianConsoleMAC.dmg.
- Follow instructions to drag the LogMeIn Rescue icon to your Applications folder. The application is now installed on your computer.
How to Run the Desktop App
On Windows
Launch the application via the Windows Start button, a desktop shortcut, or any other preferred method. You may be prompted to log in to your Rescue account. Use the same email and password combination you use to log in at the LogMeIn Rescue website.
Tip: Rescue technicians with a Single Sign-On (SSO) ID can also start the Rescue Desktop Technician Console using any supported SSO authentication method.
On a Mac
Launch the application via Launchpad or Finder > Applications. You may be prompted to log in to your Rescue account. Use the same email and password combination you use to log in at the LogMeIn Rescue website.
Tip: Rescue technicians with a Single Sign-On (SSO) ID can also launch the Rescue Desktop Technician Console using any supported SSO authentication method.
Remember: Technician Console for Mac will use the language set as the preferred language of the Mac OS X.
How to Set Up One-Click Login to the Desktop App
You can tell Rescue to remember your user name and password when you log in to the desktop app.
You install VMware Remote Console from the App Store on your macOS machine. Alternatively, you can download an installation package and perform a manual install.

When you install a new version of VMware Remote Console from the App Store, you may be prompted to uninstall any previous versions that were not installed from the App Store.

Procedure
Console Logs Mac
- To install VMware Remote Console from the App Store, perform the following steps.Note: This procedure is supported for macOS 10.15 and later.
- Open the App Store and search for VMware Remote Console.
- Click Get > Install App.
- If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID and password.
The App Store downloads and installs VMware Remote Console. - To manually install VMware Remote Console, perform the following steps.
- Access the VMware Remote Console download page and download VMware Remote Console for macOS.You can also access the download page from the vSphere Client or VMware Host Client.
- In the vSphere Client, select any virtual machine, open the Summary tab, and click Launch Remote Console > Download Remote Console.
- In the VMware Host Client, select any virtual machine and select Console > Download VMRC.
- Open the installation package and double-click VMware Remote Console.
- Enter the user name and password of a system administrator.
- Read the terms of the license agreement and click Agree.
- Select whether to join the Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) and click Done.For more information about the CEIP, see Join or Leave the Customer Experience Improvement Program.
- Access the VMware Remote Console download page and download VMware Remote Console for macOS.
